Great Value Training Courses
Racking Safety Awareness & Inspection

As a responsible employer, you want to ensure that your working environment is as safe as possible. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 1998) require employers to ensure that personnel designated to undertake inspections have received adequate training. Working with advice from professional bodies and clients, we have tailored our training course to meet the requirements your staff need to carry out in-house rack safety inspections.

By the end of the course

All attendees will be competent to inspect racking to the required standards AND have the personal confidence to undertake inspections, report damage and take the necessary actions.

Our RoSPA course is available from £800.00+VAT for up to 8 delegates per day across the UK mainland!

About the course

The course is interactive and engaging and adapts to the existing understanding of all delegates. Each of our trainers are also experienced rack safety inspectors who have additional training in mentoring skills and delivering training courses. During the course, there will be a particular focus on the following :

  • Recognise the need for rack safety inspections;
  • Identify the main components of a racking structure;
  • Classify the extent of damage to a component to SEMA standard; and
  • Determine appropriate remedial action

We present the course at your own site allowing us to transition the classroom theory into a practical session within your warehouse. An example inspection is conducted with active input from your staff, allowing any queries to be addressed immediately with advice on how to approach your site-specific requirements.

Who should attend?

It is important to promote the significance of a safe and efficient rack safety inspection and maintenance regime. In order to do this, it is best to involve those with the authority to enact change and action within the warehouse.

We recommend the following individuals receive training :

  • Health and Safety Representatives/Managers
  • PRRS – The Person Responsible for Rack Safety
  • Warehouse Supervisors and Team Leaders
  • Warehouse Operatives – especially those who work with the existing system
