All storage installations will suffer some damage during use. End users of pallet racking and industrial shelving systems have a legal requirement under PUWER (1998) to have these installations inspected by a “technically competent person” on an annual basis. All rack safety inspections are undertaken to the SEMA code of practice. Details of our SEMA approved Rack Inspectors can be found on the SEMA website here. Our reports are comprehensive and easy to understand, including an installation layout plan and a replacement materials list.

We are able to undertake inspections of automated high bay installations requiring working at height. Inspectors working at height are fully certified as competent to work at height. All the necessary risk assessments and method statements are prepared and agreed, along with a safe system of work, before attending site.

Our courses are tailored to your requirements and presented at your storage facility. They are designed to give your staff a thorough insight into racking safety and to instruct them on how to inspect, assess and report damage. The course is in two parts, the first is classroom based and the second involves a practical inspection in your storage facility.

We specialise in verticality and level surveys of storage installations. Using digital levels we are able to measure floor levels to millimetre accuracy. We have specialist survey equipment, which enables us to check the verticality of racking without the need to work at height. By using this specialist equipment we are able to measure and record extensive amounts of data quickly and efficiently.

The cost of rack safety inspection varies depending on the size and complexity of the installation. Typically, rack safety inspections start from around £400.00 + VAT for a small installation and rise up to £990.00 + VAT for larger installations (up to 10,000 pallet locations). Sites with more than 10,000 pallet locations are typically quoted for on an individual basis.

The price agreed is the price you pay, there are no additional costs.
