Brandon Surveys was fully incorporated as a limited company in 1986, its Managing Director at that time having traded since 1977 as a sole trader. The company originally traded from Great Dunmow in Essex, primarily undertaking drainage surveys at a local level throughout East Anglia and at a national level throughout the UK.
In 2002 the company merged with Martin Sawyer Surveys in Northampton, expanding the surveying services to include Topographical and Measured Building surveys.
The current Managing Director, Martin Sawyer, had traded in Northampton as sole trader since 1991. Previously being involved with a local survey company since 1983.
Our head office is now in Northampton with a subsidiary office in Cambridge.
We have a mixture of staff that all bring their own wealth of talent and experience to the team. We always ensure that our building surveying team members are at different stages of their careers. This ensures that not only do we have a variety of ages, experiences and qualifications, we also have a healthy mixture of ideas and attitudes so that the younger members gain valuable experience and our older members stay up to date with new technology and current legislation.
We use the latest technology and software to recreate floor plans, sections and elevations in 2D presentation. We use Leica 'Distos' together with bluetooth tablet PCs when creating plans and we have the ability to link up to Leica TCR series instrumentation to create elevations. But our experience means that we recognise that some situations call for the traditional approach of tape measures and sketch books.
